The Toronto Argonauts would like to congratulate former Argos QB Tracy Ham and DE Elfrid Payton on being named to the Canadian Football Hall of Fame (CFHOF). The induction of Ham and Payton brings the total number of Argonauts in the CFHOF to 54.
Boatmen sent eight players to Edmonton and in exchange the Eskimos sent eight players to Toronto including Ham. In his lone season in Toronto he dressed in 18 games, threw for 2,147 yards and eight touchdowns, and carried 73 times for 605 yards and six touchdowns. At the time of his retirement, Ham held the record for Most Rushing yards by a Quarterback during the regular season with 1,096 yards. He is also second behind former Argo Damon Allen for Most Rushing Yards All-time by a quarterback with 8,043.
Elfrid Payton played only one season (2001) in Toronto but put up all-star numbers. In fact, he was named both an East Division and CFL All-Star that season while leading the Argos in sacks (15) and leading the CFL in fumble return yards (88). In his career, Payton earned two Grey Cup rings and was an East All-Star five times - 1993, 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2001, and a West All-Star once in 2002. He was a CFL All-Star five times – 1993, 1997, 1998, 2001 and 2002. At the time of his retirement, Elfrid Payton had 154 sacks making him second of All-Time in Quarterback Sacks.
The other three inductees from the class of 2010 include WR Donald Narcisse & K/P Bob Cameron and building Joe Pistilli.
